Ventilation is the technique behind the most natural wigs in the world — the seamless hairlines, invisible lace, and pieces that appear to grow directly from the scalp. While many tutorials show the basics, true mastery requires correct technique, proper tools, and expert guidance. This two-day intensive training is designed to take you from zero ventilation experience to confidently tying fundamental knots and constructing a natural wig hairline.

Day One — Foundations & Guided Practice

The first day focuses on understanding the fundamentals of ventilation:

• Tools and workstation setup
• Lace types and hair preparation
• Ventilation patterns
• Ergonomics and technique
• Live demonstration of essential knotting methods

Students will then complete guided hands-on practice with direct supervision and correction.

Day Two — Practical Wig Construction

The second day is fully practical. Each student will work one-on-one with Merria Dearman to apply the techniques learned on Day One, building a customized wig hairline on their own wig. By the end of the class, you will have completed a ventilated wig with a custom hairline built by your own hands.
