Two intensive days that take you from zero ventilation experience to confidently tying every fundamental knot and building a customised hairline with your own hands. Day 1 is demonstration and guided hands-on training. Day 2 is full practical work — one-on-one with Merria — customising your own full wig hairline from start to finish. DEARMAN
Merria Dearman is one of the world’s finest wigmakers.
She builds wigs the way they were meant to be built — by hand, one strand at a time, spending 90 hours on each piece.
Merria trained in theatre, film, and special FX at Vancouver Film School, where she studied under the esteemed wigmaker Donna Bis. She later continued learning from the old-world Italian wig masters in New York — the ones she calls “a dying breed.”
She later opened her own studio, Hår, on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, quickly becoming the go-to expert for clients who had been let down by everything else.
Her work has graced the heads of Karlie Kloss, Sarah Jessica Parker, Madonna, Gisele Bündchen, Naomi Campbell, Irina Shayk, Rose Byrne, and Christina Aguilera.
Her film credits include Violent Night, Hillbilly Elegy, and The Andy Warhol Diaries.
Her work has been featured in The New York Times, InStyle, HuffPost, and Oprah’s list.
But it’s the medical work that truly defines her.
For over two decades, Merria has created undetectable wigs and hairpieces for women and men experiencing hair loss — including those affected by cancer, alopecia, and thinning hair.
She received the Beauty for Development Humanitarian Award for her commitment to ethical sourcing and fair-trade practices, personally building her own supply chain across four continents.

2 DAYS FROM FIRST KNOT TO FINISHED PIECE
Demonstration + Guided Hands-On
The most intensive learning day. Merria walks you through the complete foundations of ventilation — tools, lace types, knotting patterns, hair preparation, and ergonomics — then demonstrates every fundamental knot live before guiding you through three hours of hands-on practice with real supervision and correction.
Hands-On — Go Deeper
The entire second day is practical custom work. Merria works with each student individually — one on one — to practise technique on your own wig. You’ll build a customised h Aairline, applying every knot and method from Day 1 with personal guidance, correction, and refinement. By the end of the day, you’ll have completed a wig with a custom hairline built by your own hands.
