Merria Dearman

Merria Dearman doesn’t merely paint; she composes visual symphonies that resonate on a deeply emotional level. Every brushstroke feels deliberate yet spontaneous each canvas is a living space, inviting viewers into an orchestra of color, texture, and light. Her work is as much about what’s seen as what’s felt.

Raised in the rugged landscapes of Cornwall, Merria’s earliest memories are tied to dramatic coastlines, swiftly shifting skies, and a sense of limitless possibility. This formative backdrop instilled in her a fascination with contrasts  light and shadow, serenity and storm. She began experimenting with mixed media in childhood, layering found natural materials alongside traditional pigments in a gesture of creative rebellion and curiosity.

Her mantra “Let the surface breathe” guides her process. Merria blends oil, acrylic, and organic elements to evoke subtle yet powerful atmospheres. Her compositions explore the threshold between the tangible and the transcendental, urging viewers to linger, reflect, and feel transported.

Merria’s distinctive vision has attracted collaborations across a range of creative realms from boutique galleries and immersive installations to environmental design and editorial commissions. Each collaboration draws upon her unique ability to evoke mood and memory, marking her as a singular voice in contemporary visual arts.
