barely speak to each other.
Fashion week just happened. Everyone has stories: the thing that worked, the thing that fell apart at 6am, the trick someone showed you backstage that you’ll use for the rest of your career.
Almost none of it gets shared. This industry trained us to see each other as competition, so we keep our good ideas to ourselves and lose them.
That’s a bad deal for everyone. The people who could teach you the most are standing in the same room, and most nights nobody gets past hello.
So: a wine bar in Belleville, an open tab, and no agenda whatsoever. No stage. No sponsor. Nobody selling you anything. Turn up, find someone whose work you admire, and ask them how they did it.
Bring a makeup artist friend if you’d like one there.

One evening won’t undo how closed this industry can be. But it’s a start, and if enough of the right people turn up, it becomes the room everyone wants to be in: in Paris first, then wherever we’re all working next.
